Statsplice MLB source/data distribution — modification notices Updated 2026-10-20. Component notices; no warranty of every possible right. UPSTREAM MATERIAL — UNMODIFIED Sean Lahman Baseball Database, Lahman R package14.0-0, CRAN mirror commit d30d338f772fd3461b193b69c260f8d64cc0ed8a https://github.com/cran/Lahman/tree/d30d338f772fd3461b193b69c260f8d64cc0ed8a Copyright Sean Lahman. Package authors Michael Friendly, Chris Dalzell, Martin Monkman, Dennis Murphy and contributors (full authors in DESCRIPTION). The four .RData tables and four documentation files listed in downloads.json are retained byte-for-byte; their recorded checksums are verified. DESCRIPTION says GPL; the pinned package documentation specifies GPL version2 or newer, although its internal version table still says13.0-0. The actual package DESCRIPTION identifies14.0-0. Full GPLv2 text is included as COPYING. ADAPTATIONS — 2026-10-17 Statsplice contributors converted Batting, Pitching, People and Teams tables from R data.frames to CSV, preserving source values. These four CSVs are editable reproduction inputs, not newly collected statistics. The original conversion used Python rdata; its temporary environment is not redistributed. src/mlb-400.json: selected1970–2024 AL/NL regular-season records; summed stints within each player/year; selected400 unique identities (200 hitters,200 pitchers); recomputed rates from raw inputs; applied documented role minimums and equal-weight role percentiles; retained coherent two-way seasons. Team names derive from Teams. Color values are illustrative franchise palettes. No absent secondary-role record is replaced with zero. src/mlb-meta.json: Statsplice-generated provenance, thresholds, selection summary, exclusions and fingerprint for that derived data. src/mlb-stats.js: Statsplice category definitions, qualification, formatting and percentile-scoring transformation source. scripts/build-mlb.py: Statsplice CSV-to-selected-pool transformation source. scripts/export-mlb.mjs: Statsplice HTML/CSV derived-data export source. PACKAGING CHANGES — 2026-10-19 Added these dated notices, adjacent .license files and a manifest. Added SPDX/copyright/change notices to the three transformation/code files. The selection builder now creates its output directories. The exporter now imports only mlb-stats.js (same stat exports) and creates its output folders, so it runs independently of unrelated basketball/football/gameplay modules. No statistical input, selection rule, score formula or saved-game version was changed. Build-time production packing is a reversible representation; this archive provides the editable unpacked data used for that material. UNDERLYING DATABASE — CC BY-SA 3.0 SABR Lahman Baseball Database, copyright 1996–2025 SABR, via donation from Sean Lahman. The full SABR-README.txt is retained in data/mlb-source/. Source: https://sabr.box.com/shared/static/qtgh1olzcaauz5x234wqx8huixizff8l.txt License: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ The included underlying tables and adapted CSV/JSON baseball data retain this attribution and CC BY-SA 3.0 terms. The changes described above are Statsplice adaptations. Credit also belongs to the contributors named in that readme, including Seamheads for Negro League records in the full tables. The gameplay selection uses 1970–2024 AL/NL seasons; the source distribution retains full upstream tables with wider coverage. Section 2.1 documents Seamheads coverage and NULL-value caveats, with no separate exclusion stated. PACKAGE AND TRANSFORMATION CODE — GPL-2.0-or-later The R package retains its GPL notices. Statsplice-authored transformation code already offered under GPL-2.0-or-later keeps that license and copyright (c) 2026 Statsplice contributors. See COPYING for terms and warranty. Underlying database terms and package/code terms are separately identified; this notice does not replace upstream licenses or automatically license the independently authored game UI, other sports, trademarks or photographs. No endorsement is implied. The licenses provide no warranty of all rights. PACKAGING CHANGES — 2026-10-20 Retained the full SABR readme, credited Seamheads contributions in included full tables, and clarified underlying database versus package/code terms. No source statistics, pool identities, scoring or replay versions changed.
